Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) on Wednesday (April 1, 2026) announced the appointment of Burra Vamsi Rama Mohan as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) with effect from April 1.
According to a regulatory filing, his tenure will be from the date of assumption of charge on or after April 1, 2026, till the date of his superannuation on July 31, 2030, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
He succeeds Ravindra Kumar Tyagi, who retired on March 31, 2026.
With over 33 years of experience in the power transmission and telecom sectors, Vamsi has held several key leadership, policy-making and strategic roles at both regional and corporate levels within POWERGRID.
