Senior IPS officer K Satyanarayana (IPS:1998:UP), currently serving as Additional Director General (ADG) of Traffic, has applied for voluntary retirement from service (VRS).
Satyanarayana, a native of Andhra Pradesh, is due to retire in October 2027, but has chosen to seek retirement almost two years in advance.
While the exact reason for his decision remains unclear, departmental sources indicate that he has opted for VRS citing personal reasons.
Satyanarayana’s application is now under consideration, and the government will take a decision on whether to accept or reject it under the provisions of the All India Services (Death-cum-Retirement Benefits) Rules, 1958.
