Senior IAS officer R Alice Vaz (IAS:2005:AGMUT) was on Thursday (21.11.2024) appointed as the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Delhi. Delhi is set to hold Assembly elections early next year. Vaz, currently serving as Secretary of Directorate of Higher Education in Delhi, will replace P Krishnamurthy (IAS:1997:AGMUT), who has been recently appointed Chairperson of the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority after serving as Delhi CEO since August 2023.
So far she has held various posts across many states. Her first posting was in West Bengal, where she was posted in different districts. Then she stayed in Puducherry for a long time. In 2020, she was transferred to Delhi and has served as Labour Director under Delhi Government. Also, she served as Joint Secretary in Delhi Jal Board and was posted in the Higher and Technical Education department.
Also, Sachin Rana (IAS:2014:AGMUT) has been appointed as Additional Chief Electoral Officer, Delhi. He is currently serving as Additional CEO, Delhi Jal Board.
