Gujarat: 35 IPS officers shifted, Surat & Vadodara get new Police Commissioners

The Gujarat government on Sunday (14.04.2024) effected major reshuffle in police administration by transferring and promoting 35 officers. This decision to IPS cadre reshuffle came after the Election Commission of India (ECI), which directed the government to submit a list of IPS officers within 48 hours to fill the vacant positions.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows;

1. Manoj Agarwal (IPS:1991:GJ), Director, Civil Defence and Commandant General, Home Guards, Ahmedabad, has been promoted to Director General of Police grade and posted as Director, Civil Defence and Commandant General, Home Guards, Ahmedabad.
2. Dr K Laxmi Narayan Rao (IPS:1992:GJ), Additional Director General of Police, Prisons & Correctional administration, Ahmedabad, has been promoted to Director General of Police grade and posted as Director General of Police, Prisons & Correctional administration, Ahmedabad.
3. Gyanender Singh Malik (IPS:1993:GJ), Commissioner of Police, Ahmedabad City, has been promoted to Director General of Police grade and posted as Commissioner of Police, Ahmedabad City.
4. Hasmukh Patel (IPS:1993:GJ), Managing Director, Gujarat Police Housing Corporation, Gandhinagar, has been promoted to Director General of Police grade and posted as Managing Director, Gujarat Police Housing Corporation, Gandhinagar.
5. Narasimha N Komar (IPS:1996:GJ), Additional Director General of Police (Administration), Gandhinagar, has been transferred and posted as Commissioner of Police, Vadodara.
6. Anupam Singh Gahlaut (IPS:1997:GJ), Commissioner of Police, Vadodara city has been transferred and posted as Commissioner of Police, Surat City.
7. Brajesh Kumar Jha (IPS:1999:GJ), Joint Commissioner of Police, Sector-2, Ahmedabad City, has been promoted to Additional Director General of Police grade and posted as Special Commissioner of Police, Sector-2, Ahmedabad City.
8. Wabang Jamir (IPS:1999:GJ), Joint Commissioner of Police, Sector-1, Surat City, has been promoted to Additional Director General of Police grade and posted as Special Commissioner of Police, Sector-1, Surat City.
9. Ajay Kumar Choudhary (IPS:1999:GJ), Joint Commissioner of Police (Special Branch), Ahmedabad City, has been promoted to Additional Director General of Police grade and posted as Special Commissioner of Police (Special Branch), Ahmedabad City.
10. Abhay Chudasama (IPS:1999:GJ), Principal, State Police Academy, Karai, Gandhinagar, has been promoted to Additional Director General of Police grade and posted as Principal, State Police Academy, Karai, Gandhinagar.
11. SG Trivedi (IPS:1999:GJ), Inspector General of Police, CID (Crime), Gandhinagar, has been promoted to Additional Director General of Police grade and posted as Additional Director General of Police, CID (Crime), Gandhinagar.
12. JR Mothaliya (IPS:2001:GJ), who was awaiting posting orders, has been posted as Inspector General of Police, Ahmedabad Range, Ahmedabad.
13. Prem Vir Singh (IPS:2005:GJ), who was awaiting posting orders, has been posted as Inspector General of Police, Surat Range, Surat.
14. Nilesh Bhikhabhai Jajadia (IPS:2006:GJ), Deputy Inspector General of Police, Junagadh Range, Junagadh, has been promoted to Inspector General of Police grade and posted as Inspector General of Police, Junagadh Range, Junagadh.
15. Bipin Shankarrao Ahire (IPS:2006:GJ), Joint Director, Anti-Corruption Bureau, Ahmedabad, has been promoted to Inspector General of Police grade and posted as Additional Director, Anti-Corruption Bureau, Ahmedabad.

17. Chirag Mohanbhai Koradia (IPS:2006:GJ), who was awaiting posting orders, has been promoted to Inspector General of Police grade and posted as Inspector General of Police, Border Range, Bhuj.
18. PL Mal (IPS:2006:GJ), Deputy Inspector General of Police (Coastal Security), Ahmedabad, has been promoted to Inspector General of Police grade and posted as Inspector General of Police (Coastal Security), Ahmedabad.
