New Delhi: AGMUT cadre IAS officer Sonal Swaroop (IAS:2012:AGMUT) has been appointed as Director in the Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation, Delhi, for a period of five years.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (October 14, 2026), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved her appointment under the Central Staffing Scheme for five years from the date she assumes charge of the post, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. She was recommended for central deputation by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Swaroop is currently serving as Director of Census Operations/Director of Citizen Registration for Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya, a position she has held since April/May 2026. She was appointed to the post for a tenure of three years.
