The Ministry of Home Affairs has extended the on-going lock down by another two weeks. Under fresh guidelines, the use of Aarogya Setu App has become mandatory, for the both private and government employees.
The Aarogya Setu App informs the users about risks, best practices and related advisories, pertaining to the containment of COVID-19. The app has been developed by the National Informatics Centre, through a public-private partnership.
The app may also be used as a pass to allow movement of people. It will share the users’ data with the government, but it has been assured that users’ personal details will not be made public.
IT and ITes companies in the red zones have been given relaxations under fresh guidelines.
Print and electronic media, data and call centres, Special Economic Zones (SEZs), Export Oriented Units (EOUs), industrial estates and industrial townships with access control, manufacturing units of essential goods and so on, can operate if they follow the social distancing norms.
