The Tamil Nadu government on Thursday (June 18, 2026) reassigned three IPS officers through two separate orders.
In the first order, senior IPS officer Seema Agrawal (IPS:1990:TN), who is currently serving as Director General of Police/Director, Fire and Rescue Services, Chennai, was given additional charge of the post of Chairman, Fire Commission.
She has been assigned the additional responsibility following the resignation of the first Chairman of the Commission, Shankar Jiwal (Retd. IPS:1990), a day earlier.
In a separate order, two senior IPS officers were reassigned.
Sandeep Mittal (IPS:1995:TN), currently serving as Director General of Police, Armed Police, Chennai, has been transferred and posted as Director General of Police/Chairman, Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board (TNUSRB), Chennai.
Dr R Dhinakaran (IPS:1998:TN), who is serving as Additional Director General of Police/Director, Tamil Nadu Police Academy, Oonamanchery, Vandalur, Chennai, has been transferred and posted as Additional Director General of Police, Armed Police, Chennai.
