REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited, has extended financial support of ₹1.25 crore to the District Administration of Kargil, Ladakh, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
The support is aimed at strengthening education, healthcare and drinking water infrastructure and is expected to benefit nearly 1.95 lakh residents across the district.
As part of the initiative, a new 40-seater school bus was officially flagged off on June 19, 2026.
The ceremony was attended by Jitendra Srivastava, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), REC Limited, along with Prince Dhawan, CEO, RECPDCL, and representatives from the Union Territory Administration of Ladakh and the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Kargil.
According to the company, the school bus has been introduced to improve access to education and provide safer and more reliable transportation for students in the region’s difficult terrain.
The initiative forms part of RECPDCL’s CSR efforts focused on supporting infrastructure development in remote and underserved areas.
