Saurabh Singh deputation extended by two years in Department of Economic Affairs

New Delhi : The central deputation tenure of Saurabh Singh (IA&AS:2013) as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs has been extended by two years.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (September 25, 2026), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal of the Department of Economic Affairs to extend his deputation tenure for two years beyond October 20, 2026, up to October 20, 2028, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Singh was initially appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs for a tenure up to February 29, 2024, corresponding to the period for which the G-20 Secretariat was functional. He assumed charge of the post on October 20, 2022.

Subsequently, with effect from March 1, 2024, he was appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs up to October 20, 2026. With the latest approval, his deputation tenure has now been extended by another two years, up to October 20, 2028.
