The Central Government on Friday (June 19, 2026) assigned additional charge of two Secretary-level posts to senior IAS officers Nikunja Bihari Dhal and Nidhi Khare during the leave period of incumbent officers.
Nikunja Bihari Dhal (IAS:1993:OR), Secretary, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, has been given additional charge of the post of Secretary, Department of Justice.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), the competent authority has approved assignment of the additional charge to him from June 20, 2026 to June 26, 2026 during the period of absence on leave of Niraj Verma (IAS:1994:AM).
Similarly, Nidhi Khare (IAS:1992:JH), Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs, has been assigned additional charge of the post of Secretary, Department of Food & Public Distribution.
According to a separate order issued by DoPT, the competent authority has approved assignment of additional charge to her from June 20, 2026 to July 2, 2026 during the period of absence on leave of Sanjeev Chopra (IAS:1990:OR).
