Karnataka IMA scam: CBI seeks permission to prosecute govt officials

The Central Bureau of Investigation has sought permission from Karnataka government to prosecute 3 government officials, including an IAS, in connection with the Rs 4,000-crore IMA scam. The CBI wants to question them to probe the allegations of bribery against them.

These three officials are- IAS officer and former Bengaluru Urban DC BM Vijayshankar, former sub-divisional officer (Bengaluru North) LC Nagaraj and former village accountant N Manjunath.

“There are allegations against the officers of receiving illegal gratification to cover up the fraud,” a source said.
