Senior bureaucrat Pradip Kumar Tripathi (Retd. IAS:1987:AGMUT) will continue as Secretary of the Lokpal of India for another year. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (June 30, 2026), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved his reappointment on a contract basis from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Tripathi was appointed as Secretary to the Lokpal on May 27, 2024, and served in the post until his superannuation on June 30, 2024. As per his appointment order, he was to continue in the post on a contractual basis for two years after retirement, under the usual terms and conditions applicable to re-employed Central Government officers.
With the completion of that two-year contractual tenure on June 30, 2026, the ACC has now approved a fresh one-year extension, enabling him to continue as Secretary of the Lokpal till June 30, 2027, or until further orders.
