The central government may formally allow IAS and IRS officers and other government employees to work from home post corona lockdown.

A proposal to this effect has been prepared by ‘CARUNA’, a platform created by the civil servants to fight the COVID-19.

The Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) is reportedly examining the proposal, and it could soon prepare guidelines to formally provide for work from home.

According to the sources, they felt encouraged by the administration’s success with the experiment of work from home during covid-19 lockdown.

“Since this is a practice that can lead to more efficiency, the government is exploring ways to formalise it,” the source added.
