In a significant development, IPS officer Vikas Kumar (IPS:2013:AGMUT), currently serving as Superintendent of Police (SP) in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), has been reverted to his parent cadre, AGMUT.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on Wednesday (15.01.2025) approved the proposal by the AV Division of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) for his reversion, with the extension of the “cooling off” condition.
Vikas Kumar had joined the CBI on deputation as SP in August 2021 for a tenure of four years, which was originally set to expire in August 2025.
