New Delhi: REC Limited, a Maharatna CPSE under the Ministry of Power, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Central Power Research Institute (CPRI) to strengthen quality testing and assurance mechanisms for materials deployed under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS).
The MoU was signed on Tuesday at REC’s Corporate Office in Gurugram by Yogendra Singh, General Manager & HoD (PMD Quality), REC, and M.G. Anandakumar, Joint Director (BD & CBS Division), CPRI.
The signing ceremony was attended by Prince Dhawan, IAS, Executive Director (PMD), REC, Dr Neha Adhikari, Joint Director, CPRI, along with officials from both organisations.
Under the agreement, REC and CPRI will collaborate on third-party quality testing of RDSS project materials, technical support, capacity-building initiatives, and the development of robust quality assurance frameworks. The partnership aims to ensure that materials used in RDSS projects conform to prescribed standards and enhance the operational reliability of the country’s power distribution network.
