Suman Chandra appointed as Deputy Secretary, M/o New and Renewable Energy

Suman Chandra (IAS:2010:MH) has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Delhi for a period of four years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (06.01.2023), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Ms. Suman to the post under the central staffing scheme for a period of four years.

Dr. Madhumita Bhattacharyya promoted to SAG

Dr. Madhumita Bhattacharyya has been promoted to the Senior Administrative Grade (SAG) in General Duty Medical Officer Sub-cadre of Central Health Services (CHS).According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (06.01.2023), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the promotion of Ms. Bhattacharyya for the panel year 2015-16.

Ishtiyaque Ahmed appointed Senior Advisor in NITI Aayog

Ishtiyaque Ahmed (IRS-IT), Commissioner of Income Tax (OSD) in the Office of Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Delhi has been appointed to the post of Senior Advisor in the NITI Aayog. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (06.01.2023), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Mr. Ahmed to the post under Knowledge Innovation Hub (KIH) in the area of Industrial Policy and Foreign Investment.

Dr. G Jawahar appointed Director (Human Resources), BEML Limited

Dr. G Jawahar, Executive Director (ED) of Power Finance Corporation (PFC), has been appointed as Director (Human Resources) in BEML Limited. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (06.01.2023), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of Department of Defence to appoint Mr. Jawahar to the post from the date of his assumption of charge of the post till the date of his superannuation i.e. 31.05.2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Nagaland: Rupin Sharma re-appointed DGP

The Nagaland government has notified the re-appointment of Rupin Sharma (IPS:1992:NL) as Director General of Police (DGP) of the state replacing T John Longkumer (IPS:1991:CG) following intervention of the Supreme Court, who resigned on January 2, 2023.

Sharma has been assigned the charge in addition to his current charge as DG (Prisons & HG.CD & SDRF). The order will come to force from January 7 till further orders.

Earlier, the Supreme Court ordered Nagaland government to send the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) a fresh list of empanelled officers for appointment to the post of Director General of Police (DGP) Nagaland by October 31, 2022. It had also directed the UPSC to take a decision on the appointment by November 30, 2022.

Odisha: 14 IPS officers shifted

The Odisha government on Friday (30.12.2022) effected a major IPS reshuffle at the DIG and SP level giving new postings to at least 15 officers.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows :

  1. Akhilesvar Singh (IPS:2009:OR), SP of Jagatsinghpur has been promoted and posted as DIG of Special Armed Police (SAP).
  2. Brijesh Kumar Rai (IPS:2009:OR), SP of Ganjam has been promoted and posted as DIG of North Central Range.
  3. Charan Singh Meena (IPS:2009:OR), SP of Bhadrak has been promoted and posted as DIG of Odisha Fire Service and Home Guards.
  4. Sudhanshu Sekhar Mishra (IPS:2012:OR), SP of Balasore has been transferred and posted as SP of Angul.
  5. Rahul PR (IPS:2013:OR), SP of Jajpur has been transferred and posted as SP of Jagatsingpur.
  6. Jagmohan Meena (IPS:2013:OR), SP of Angul has been transferred and posted as SP of Ganjam.
  7. L Divya (IPS:2013:OR), SP of Vigilance has been transferred and posted as SP of Dhenkanal.
  8. Pratyush Diwakar (IPS:1015:OR), SP of Nuapada has been transferred and posted as SP of Sundargarh.
  9. Sagarika Nath (IPS:2016:OR), SP of Sundargarh has been transferred and posted as SP of Balasore.
  10. Vinit Agarwal (IPS:2016:OR), SP of Kandhamal has been transferred and posted as SP of Jajpur.
  11. Varun Guntupalli (IPS:2016:OR), SP of Koraput has been transferred and posted as SP of Bhadrak.
  12. Gundala Reddy R (IPS:2019:OR), SDPO, Baliguda has been transferred and posted as SP of Nuapada.
  13. Suvendu Patra (IPS:2019:OR), SDPO of Malkangiri has been transferred and posted as SP of Kandhamal.
  14. Abhinav Sonkar (IPS:2019:OR), SDPO of Kesinga has been transferred and posted as SP of Koraput.
  15. Gyana Ranjan Mohapatra (OPS), SP of Special Branch has been given additional charge of Dhenkanal district.

Saheli Ghosh Roy gets extension as JS in MHA

The tenure of Saheli Ghosh Roy (CSS) as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs has been extended for a period of one year. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (04.01.2023), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs to extend the tenure of Ms. Roy for a period of one year beyond 30.11.2022 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Naresh Kumar’s tenure as Director (Councellor level), BIMSTEC Secretariat curtailed

Naresh Kumar’s (IFS:2008) tenure as Director (Councellor level), Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi Sectoral Technical and Ecomomic Corporation (BIMSTEC) Secretariat, Dhaka, has been curtailed. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (04.01.2023), the Appointments Committee of Cabinet approved the proposal of the Ministry of External Affairs to curtail the tenure of Mr. Kumar on the ground that the officer is being transferred back to Headquarters, New Delhi, MEA on functional grounds.

CVC Deputy Secretary Rajesh Ranjan returns to parent cadre

Rajesh Ranjan (IA&AS:2007), Deputy Secretary in the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (05.01.2023), the competent authority has approved the proposal of CVC to repatriate Mr. Ranjan to his parent cadre to avail the benefit of promotion.

Union Minister Raj Kumar Singh’s PS Manoj Kumar Singh re-designated as Director

The post of Manoj Kumar Singh (IAS:2009:BH) as Private Secretary (Deputy Secretary level) to Raj Kumar Singh, Minister for Power, has been re-designated as Private Secretary (Director level). According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (05.01.2023), the competent authority has approved re-designation of the post of Mr. Singh as Director with effect from the date of taking over charge of the re-designated post and for a period and for a period up to 19.12.2023 or on co-terminus basis with the Minister or till he ceases to function as Private Secretary to the Minister or until further orders, whichever is the earliest.
