The post of Tanvi Garg (IAS:2009:AGMUT) as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) has been re-designated as Director. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (01.02.2023), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the re-designation Ms. Garg as Director for a period upto 01.01.2028 ( i.e. total five years tenure under the central staffing scheme).
Vinod Kumar Tiwari returns to parent cadre
Vinod Kumar Tiwari (IFoS:1986:HP), Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Coal, has been repatriated to his parent cadre. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (01.02.2023), the competent authority has approved repatriation of Mr. Tiwari to his parent cadre to avail the benefit of promotion.

Shyam Lal Poonia (IAS:2010:MN) has been appointed to the post of Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Delhi. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (31.01.2023), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Mr. Poonia to post w.e.f the date of assumption of charge and for a tenure upto 07.12.2026 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Javvadi V Naga Subramanyam appointed Director, Department of Economic Affairs
Javvadi V Naga Subramanyam (IAS:2009:AM) has been appointed to the post of Director in the Department of Economic Affairs. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (31.01.2023), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Mr. Subramanyam to post w.e.f the date of assumption of charge of the post and for a tenure upto 25.09.2026 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The central deputation tenure of Mithra T (IAS:2009:KL) as DCO/DCR, Kerala has been extended for a period of 2 years and 9 months. According to order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (31.01.2023), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal to extend the deputation tenure of Ms. Mithra for a period of 2 years and 9 months beyond 31.03.2023 and upto 31.12.2025 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Kartikeya Sinha, General Manager, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), has been appointed as Director (Planning & Marketing), National Small Industries Corporation Limited (NSIC). According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (01.02.2023), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises to appoint Mr. Sinha to the post with effect from the date of his assumption of charge of the post, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (01.02.2023), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of Ministry of Coal to appoint Mr. Roy to the post with effect from the date of his assumption of charge of the post till the date of his superannuation i.e. 30.04.2026 or until further
orders, whichever is earlier.

SC Collegium recommends two more names for SC Judges
The Supreme Court collegium headed by Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud recommended to the government on Tuesday (31.01.2023) that Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court Rajesh Bindal and Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court Aravind Kumar be appointed as judges of the Apex Court.
On December 13, 2022, the collegium recommended Justices Pankaj Mithal, Sanjay Karol, P.V. Sanjay Kumar, and Ahsanuddin Amanullah for appointment as judges in the Apex Court. Their appointment is yet to be notified by the government. Now, the Collegium recommended two more names for appointment against the two remaining vacancies. The SC has a sanctioned strength of thirty four Judges and is presently functioning with twenty seven Judges. Thus, there are seven clear vacancies.
