Telangana: 15 IAS officers shifted

The Telangana government on Tuesday (31.01.2023) transferred 15 IAS officers, promoting some additional collectors as collectors and giving new posts to a few other IAS officers.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows:

  1. Bharati Hollikeri (IAS:2010:TG): Special Secretary and Commissioner, Women and Child Welfare and Senior Citizen.
  2. Rajeev Gandhi Hanumanthu (IAS:2012:TG): Collector and District Magistrate, Nizamabad.
  3. D Amoy Kumar (IAS:2013:TG): Collector and District Magistrate, Medchal-Malkajgiri with full additional charge of Collector and District Magistrate, Hyderabad.
  4. Sikta Patnaik (IAS:2014:TG): Collector and District Magistrate, Hanamkonda.
  5. Rahul Raj P S (IAS:2015:TG): Collector and District Magistrate, Adilabad.
  6. C Narayana Reddy (IAS:2015:TG): Collector and District Magistrate, Vikarabad.
  7. Shaik Yasmeen Basha (IAS:2015:TG): Collector and District Magistrate, Kumrambheem-Asifabad.

Five new SC judges to be appointed soon: AG tells SC

The Center informed the Supreme Court on Friday that the top court collegium’s recommendations for the appointment of five Supreme Court judges will be cleared soon. Attorney General R Venkataramani conveyed this message to a bench consisting of Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Abhay S Oka as the bench expressed its displeasure over the Centre’s delay in clearing the collegium’s recommendations.

The bench posted the matter for further hearing on February 13.

The Collegium on December 13 last year recommended five judges for elevation to the apex court — Rajasthan High Court Chief Justice Pankaj Mithal, Patna High Court Chief Justice Sanjay Karol, Manipur High Court Chief Justice PV Sanjay Kumar, Patna High Court judge Ahsanuddin Amanullah and Allahabad High Court judge Manoj Misra.

On January 31, the Supreme Court collegium recommended two more names for elevation as top court judges — Justice Rajesh Bindal, Chief Justice, Allahabad High Court and Justice Aravind Kumar, Chief Justice, High Court of Gujarat.

While recommending their names, the Collegium had said the names recommended by it on 13 December 2022 “shall have precedence over the two names recommended presently for appointment to the Supreme Court.”

Saravanan U selected as CMD, National Fertilizers Ltd

Saravanan U has been selected for the post of Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), National Fertilizers Ltd at a Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) meeting held on February 03, 2023. Presently, he is working as Chairman & Managing Director, Madras Fertilizer Ltd.

He will be appointed to the post of CMD after receiving vigilance clearances and an approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.

The post of Praveen S (IRS-IT:2009) as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Space has been re-designated as Director. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (02.01.2023), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the re-designation Mr. Praveeb as Director for a period upto 15.05.2024 ( i.e. total five years tenure under the central staffing scheme).
