Bihar govt reshuffles 12 IPS officers; ATS chief Pankaj Darad transferred

The Bihar government on Wednesday (July 1, 2026) issued transfer and posting orders for 12 IPS officers, assigning them to key positions across various wings of the state police. Among the key changes, Nirmal Kumar Azad has been given additional charge as Director General, Prohibition & State Narcotics Control Bureau, Pankaj Kumar Darad has been shifted as Chairperson-cum-Managing Director of the Bihar Police Building Construction Corporation, while Kassey Suhita Anupam has been posted as Additional Director General, Law & Order.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows:

1. Preeta Verma (IPS:1991:BH), Director General-cum-Chairperson-cum-Managing Director, Bihar Police Building Construction Corporation, has been transferred and posted as Director General-cum-Commandant General, Home Guards & Fire Services.
2. Nirmal Kumar Azad (IPS:1994:BH), Director General (Training), has been assigned additional charge of Director General, Prohibition & State Narcotics Control Bureau.
3. Pankaj Kumar Darad (IPS:1995:BH), Additional Director General, Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), with additional charge of ADG, Special Vigilance Unit, has been transferred and posted as Additional Director General-cum-Chairperson-cum-Managing Director, Bihar Police Building Construction Corporation.
4. Sudhanshu Kumar (IPS:1996:BH), Additional Director General, Law & Order, Bihar, with additional charge of ADG, Traffic, has been transferred and posted as Additional Director General, Traffic. He has also been assigned additional charge of ADG, Special Vigilance Unit, Bihar.
5. Amrit Raj (IPS:1998:BH), Additional Director General, Cyber Crime & Security Division, has been transferred and posted as Additional Director General, Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS).
6. Kassey Suhita Anupam (IPS:1998:BH), Additional Director General (Weaker Section), Criminal Investigation Department (CID), has been transferred and posted as Additional Director General, Law & Order, Bihar. She will also continue to hold additional charge of ADG (Weaker Section), CID.
7. Rajesh Kumar (IPS:2003:BH), Inspector General of Police, Bihar Human Rights Commission, has been transferred and posted as Inspector General of Police, State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB).
8. Pankaj Kumar Raj (IPS:2006:BH), Inspector General of Police, SCRB, with additional charge of IGP, Railways, has been transferred and posted as Inspector General of Police, Railways.
9. S Premalatha (IPS:2006:BH), Inspector General of Police, Prohibition & State Narcotics Control Bureau, has been transferred and posted as Inspector General of Police, Bihar Special Armed Police (BSAP).
10. Garima (IPS:2022:BH), Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO)-II, Kahalgaon, Bhagalpur, has been transferred and posted as Commandant, Bihar Special Armed Police-9, Jamalpur.
11. Shivam Dhakad (IPS:2022:BH), SDPO-I, Danapur, Patna, has been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police (Rural), Madhubani.
12. Komal Meena (IPS:2023:BH), SDPO-I, Masaurhi, Patna, has been transferred and posted as SDPO-II, Law & Order, Patna.
