Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government on Saturday (October 31, 2026) issued transfer and posting orders for 15 IAS officers, including several senior officers. The reshuffle comes on the day of the retirement of senior IAS officer Deepak Kumar (IAS:1990:UP), the second senior-most officer of the cadre, who was holding charge of multiple departments.
Following his retirement, the distribution of the departments and responsibilities held by him necessitated changes at the senior administrative level. The government has also made several other changes in the state bureaucracy in view of administrative requirements.
The names of the officers and their new postings are as follows:
- Shashi Prakash Goyal (IAS:1989:UP), Chief Secretary of the state, has been given additional charge of Additional Chief Secretary, Civil Aviation.
- Anurag Srivastava (IAS:1992:UP), Additional Chief Secretary, Namami Gange & Rural Water Resources Department, Minor Irrigation Department and Ground Water Department, Mission Director, Rural Drinking Water Mission, and Project Director, Rajya Swachh Ganga Mission, has been transferred and posted as Agriculture Production Commissioner. He will also hold additional charge of all the departments and assignments he was previously holding.
- Alok Kumar-II (IAS:1993:UP), Additional Chief Secretary, Infrastructure & Industrial Development and NRI Department, has been transferred and posted as Infrastructure & Industrial Development Commissioner, with additional charge of Additional Chief Secretary, Infrastructure & Industrial Development and NRI Department.
- M Devaraj (IAS:1996:UP), Principal Secretary, Department of Appointment & Personnel and Director General, Dr Ram Manohar Lohia UP Administration & Management Academy, has been given additional charge of Chairman, State Vigilance Commission and Administrative Tribunal-I.
- Dr M K S Sundaram (IAS:1997:UP), Principal Secretary, Agriculture, Agriculture Education & Research, and Agriculture Marketing & Agriculture Foreign Business Export Promotion, has been given additional charge of Principal Secretary, Coordination, and Project Director, UP DASP.
- Alok Kumar-III (IAS:1998:UP), Principal Secretary, Planning & Programme Implementation, Nodal Officer, One Trillion Dollar Economy, Nodal Officer, Zero Poverty UP Campaign, and Principal Secretary, IT & Electronics Department, has been given additional charge of Principal Secretary, Finance, Institutional Finance and External Aided Project.
- Ajay Chauhan (IAS:1998:UP), Principal Secretary, PWD and CEO, UPSHA, has been given additional charge of CEO, UPEIDA.
- Pandhari Yadav (IAS:1998:UP), Principal Secretary, External Aided Project Department and Science & Technology Department, has been relieved of the charge of External Aided Project Department.
- Yogesh Kumar (IAS:2010:UP), Managing Director of Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam (Rural), has been transferred and posted as Managing Director, Pradeshik Cooperative Dairy Federation (PCDF).
- Amit Kumar Singh (IAS), Managing Director, Pradeshik Cooperative Dairy Federation (PCDF), has been transferred and posted as Managing Director of Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam (Rural).
- Krishna Kumar (IAS:2010:UP), Secretary, Irrigation Department, CEO, Prime Minister Agriculture Irrigation Scheme, and Administrator, Greater Sharda Sahayak Command Area Development Authority, has been transferred as Divisional Commissioner, Jhansi Division.
- Chandra Shekhar (IAS:2012:UP), Special Secretary, Irrigation & Water Resources Department and Parti Bhumi Vikas Department, has been given additional charge of CEO, Prime Minister Agriculture Irrigation Scheme, and Administrator, Greater Sharda Sahayak Command Area Development Authority.
- Bhupendra S Chaudhary (IAS:2009:UP), Secretary, Administrative Reforms Department, has been transferred and posted as Secretary, UP Human Rights Commission.
- Devendra Singh Kushwaha (IAS:2012:UP), awaiting posting orders, has been posted as Special Secretary, Administrative Reforms Department.
- Praveen Mishra (IAS:2012:UP), Special Secretary, Social Welfare Department and Secretary, SCST Commission, has been given additional charge of Managing Director, UP Scheduled Castes Finance & Development Corporation, and Director, Tribal Development.
