New Delhi: Tamil Nadu cadre IAS officer Vineeth S (IAS:2013:TN) has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways. He is currently on compulsory wait in the Department of Higher Education.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (October 16, 2026), the competent authority has approved his appointment under the Central Staffing Scheme with effect from the date he assumes charge of the post. His tenure will continue until April 26, 2030, for the balance period of his four-year deputation tenure at the Deputy Secretary level, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Notably, Vineeth S was appointed Private Secretary to Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in April 2026. Following Pradhan resignation as Education Minister, Vineeth was placed on compulsory wait pending a further posting.
