Major bureaucratic reshuffle: Gujarat govt transfers 28 IAS officers

The Gujarat government on Tuesday (July 21, 2026) issued a major administrative reshuffle, transferring and posting 28 IAS officers across the state.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows;

1. Gaurangbhai H. Makwana (IAS:2012:GJ), Director, Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA), Gandhinagar, who was also holding additional charge as Managing Director, Uttar Gujarat Vij Company Ltd. (UGVCL), Mehsana, has been transferred and his services placed at the disposal of the Energy and Petrochemicals Department for appointment as Managing Director, Uttar Gujarat Vij Company Ltd. (UGVCL), Mehsana.
2. Prabhav Joshi (IAS:2014:GJ), Municipal Commissioner, Junagadh Municipal Corporation, has been transferred and his services placed at the disposal of the Industries and Mines Department for appointment as Joint Managing Director, Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC), Gandhinagar.
3. HJ Prajapati (IAS-SCS:2018:GJ), Municipal Commissioner, Porbandar Municipal Corporation, has been transferred and appointed as District Development Officer, Amreli.
4. KJ Rathod (IAS-SCS:2018:GJ), Director, Skill Development, Gandhinagar, has been transferred and his services placed at the disposal of the Energy and Petrochemicals Department for appointment as Managing Director, Dakshin Gujarat Vij Company Ltd. (DGVCL), Surat.
5. Suthar Raj Rameshchandra (IAS:2019:GJ), Chief Executive Officer, Surat Urban Development Authority (SUDA), Surat, has been transferred and his services continued at the disposal of the Urban Development and Urban Housing Department for appointment as Municipal Commissioner, Porbandar Municipal Corporation.
6. Mahesh Shantilal Jani (Selection Grade IAS:2019:GJ), Chairman, Gujarat State Social Welfare Board, Ahmedabad, has been transferred and his services placed at the disposal of the Urban Development and Urban Housing Department for appointment as Mission Director, Gujarat Urban Livelihood Mission, Gandhinagar.
7. Smit Santosh Lodha (IAS:2019:GJ), District Development Officer, Dahod, has been transferred and his services placed at the disposal of the Urban Development and Urban Housing Department for appointment as Deputy Municipal Commissioner, Surat Municipal Corporation.
8. KP Joshi (IAS-SCS:2021:GJ), Managing Director, Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Ltd. (PGVCL), Rajkot, has been transferred and appointed as District Development Officer, Devbhumi Dwarka.
9. DK Brahmbhatt (IAS-SCS:2021:GJ), Managing Director, Gujarat Medical Services Corporation Ltd., Gandhinagar, has been transferred and appointed as District Development Officer, Gandhinagar.
10. MP Pandya (IAS-SCS:2021:GJ), Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Gandhinagar, has been transferred and his services placed at the disposal of the Health and Family Welfare Department for appointment as Managing Director, Gujarat Medical Services Corporation Ltd., Gandhinagar.
11. Hiren Jitendrabhai Barot (IAS:2022:GJ), Project Administrator, Tribal Area Sub Plan (PA-TASP), Arvalli-Modasa, has been transferred and appointed as District Development Officer, Dahod.
12. BK Joshi (IAS), Executive Director, Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC), Gandhinagar, has been transferred and appointed as Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Gandhinagar.
13. RN Kuchara (IAS), Director, District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Arvalli-Modasa, has been transferred and his services placed at the disposal of the Urban Development and Urban Housing Department for appointment as Regional Commissioner of Municipalities, Rajkot.
14. CB Ganatra (IAS), Personal Secretary to the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Water Resources and Water Supply, has been transferred and his services placed at the disposal of the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department for appointment as Managing Director, Gujarat State Civil Supplies Corporation Ltd., Gandhinagar.
15. CA Gandhi (IAS), Joint Director, Directorate of Civil Supplies, Gandhinagar, has been transferred and his services placed at the disposal of the Urban Development and Urban Housing Department for appointment as Regional Commissioner of Municipalities, Vadodara.
16. BN Patel (IAS), Executive Director, Gujarat Gas Limited, Gandhinagar, shall continue in the post, which has been separately equated with an equivalent IAS cadre post.
17. MK Joshi (IAS), Secretary, Gujarat Panchayat Service Selection Board, Gandhinagar, has been transferred and his services placed at the disposal of the Tribal Development Department for appointment as Chief Executive Officer, Development Support Agency of Gujarat (D-SAG), Gandhinagar.
18. AK Joshi (IAS), Comptroller of Household to the Governor of Gujarat, has been transferred and his services placed at the disposal of the Social Justice and Empowerment Department for appointment as Managing Director, Gujarat Unreserved Educational & Economical Development Corporation, Gandhinagar.
19. KS Jhala (IAS), Joint Managing Director, Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Ltd., Gandhinagar, has been transferred and appointed as District Development Officer, Dang-Ahwa.
20. VK Jadav (IAS), Director, Developing Castes Welfare, Gandhinagar, shall continue in the post, which has been separately equated with an equivalent IAS cadre post.
21. DK Patel (IAS), Officer on Special Duty, Commissionerate of Geology and Mining, Gandhinagar, has been transferred and his services placed at the disposal of the Climate Change Department for appointment as Director, Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA), Gandhinagar.
22. BH Patel (IAS), Additional Collector (Irrigation), Vadodara, has been transferred and his services placed at the disposal of the Social Justice and Empowerment Department for appointment as Managing Director, Gujarat Scheduled Castes Development Corporation, Gandhinagar.
23. IR Vala (IAS), Secretary, Sports Authority of Gujarat, Gandhinagar, has been transferred and his services placed at the disposal of the Urban Development and Urban Housing Department for appointment as Municipal Commissioner, Junagadh Municipal Corporation.
24. MD Chudasma (IAS), Resident Additional Collector, Valsad, has been transferred and his services placed at the disposal of the Energy and Petrochemicals Department for appointment as Managing Director, Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Ltd. (PGVCL), Rajkot.
25. Dr BS Prajapati (IAS), Additional Collector (Narmada), Vadodara, has been transferred and his services placed at the disposal of the Panchayats, Rural Housing and Rural Development Department for appointment as Managing Director, Gujarat State Rural Development Corporation Ltd., Gandhinagar.
26. VG Patel (IAS), Joint Commissioner, Regional Vishleshan Committee, Surat, has been transferred and appointed as Additional Rural Development Commissioner, Commissionerate of Rural Development, Gandhinagar.
27. AK Vastani (IAS), Director, District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Rajkot, has been transferred and appointed as Director of Employment and Training, Gandhinagar.
28. PB Rathod (IAS), Chief Executive Officer, Gujarat State Waqf Board, Gandhinagar, has been transferred and his services placed at the disposal of the Labour, Skill Development and Employment Department for appointment as Director, Skill Development, Gandhinagar.
