New Delhi: Shailesh Vagerwal has assumed charge as the Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL).
Prior to joining BDL, he was serving as Chief General Manager (CGM) at Ordnance Factory, Khamaria, Jabalpur, a unit of Munitions India Limited (MIL).
Notably, the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) had recommended his name for the post after interviewing nine candidates on February 21, 2026.
Vagerwal brings with him 29 years of experience in the defence sector. During his career, he has served at Ordnance Factory Dum Dum, Ordnance Factory Itarsi, Ordnance Factory Khamaria and Munitions India Limited.
He has experience in ammunition and explosives production, administration, strategic planning, material management, quality assurance, procurement of plant and machinery, project management, civil works, research and development, exports, business development, human resources management and industrial relations.
