UP transfers 20 IAS officers; Sudha Verma named Labour Commissioner, Neha Sharma gets Medical Education

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government on Thursday (July 9, 2026) carried out a major bureaucratic reshuffle, transferring 20 IAS officers and assigning new responsibilities to several senior officials. The reshuffle also included changes in the posts of Chief Development Officers (CDOs) in Azamgarh, Ballia and Etawah.

The names of the officers and their new postings are as follows:

1. Sudha Verma (IAS:2010:UP), Secretary, Revenue, has been transferred and posted as Labour Commissioner.
2. Dr Sarika Mohan (IAS:2006:UP), Director General of Medical Education and Secretary, Medical Education, has been transferred and posted as Inspector General of Registration.
3. Neha Sharma (IAS:2010:UP), Inspector General of Registration, has been transferred and posted as Director General of Medical Education and Secretary, Medical Education.
4. Arun Kumar (IAS:2012:UP), Additional Director, Geology and Mining Department, has been transferred and posted as Mission Director, Uttar Pradesh State Livelihood Mission.
5. J. Reebha (IAS:2015:UP), Special Secretary, Geology and Mining Department, has been given additional charge of Additional Director, Geology and Mining Department.
6. Deepa Ranjan (IAS:2013:UP), Mission Director, State Livelihood Mission, has been transferred and posted as Special Secretary, Culture Department.
7. Sanjay Kumar Singh-I (IAS:2012:UP), Special Secretary, Culture and Director, Endowment, has been relieved of the charge of Special Secretary, Culture and given additional charge of Director, Culture.
8. Vishal Singh (IAS:2015:UP), Special Secretary, Culture Department, Director, Information and Director, Culture, has been relieved of the charge of Special Secretary, Culture and Director, Culture. He will continue as Director, Information.
9. Riya Kejriwal (IAS:2017:UP), Managing Director, Madhyanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam, has been transferred and posted as Special Secretary, Child Development and Nutrition Department.
10. Sandeep Bhagia (IAS:2018:UP), Additional Commissioner, State Tax, Gautam Buddha Nagar and Ghaziabad-II, has been transferred and posted as Managing Director, Madhyanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam.
11. Parikshit Khatana (IAS:2020:UP), Chief Development Officer, Azamgarh, has been transferred and posted as Additional Commissioner, State Tax, Gautam Buddha Nagar.
12. Rakesh Kumar Patel (IAS), Additional Commissioner, Lucknow Division, has been transferred and posted as Chief Development Officer, Azamgarh.
13. Renu Tiwari (IAS:2012:UP), Special Secretary, Woman Welfare and Child Development & Nutrition Department and Secretary, State Women Commission, has been relieved of the charge of Special Secretary, Woman Welfare and Child Development & Nutrition Department. She will continue as Secretary, State Women Commission.
14. Jag Pravesh (IAS:2018:UP), Commissioner, Mathura-Vrindavan Municipal Corporation, has been transferred and posted as Special Secretary, Forest, Environment & Climate Change Department.
15. Aojasvi Raj (IAS:2020:UP), Chief Development Officer, Ballia, has been transferred and posted as Commissioner, Mathura-Vrindavan Municipal Corporation.
16. Alok Kumar (IAS), Additional District Magistrate, Gonda, has been transferred and posted as Chief Development Officer, Ballia.
17. Ajay Kumar Gautam (IAS:2020:UP), Chief Development Officer, Etawah, has been transferred and posted as Additional Commissioner, State Tax, Ghaziabad-I.
18. Sanjay Kumar Singh (IAS:2012:UP), Additional District Magistrate (Administration), Muzaffarnagar, has been transferred and posted as Chief Development Officer, Etawah.
19. Manikandan A (IAS:2017:UP), who was awaiting posting, has been appointed Additional Land Management Commissioner, Revenue Council.
20. Dr Vandana Verma (IAS:2013:UP), Special Secretary, Sugar Industry & Sugarcane Development Department and Joint Managing Director, State Sugar Corporation, has been given additional charge of Joint Managing Director, UP Cooperative Sugar Mills Federation.
