Uttarakhand gives NOC for Sanjiv Chaturvedi’s central deputation to Lokpal

In a significant development, the Uttarakhand government has issued a no-objection certificate (NOC) for the central deputation of Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Sanjiv Chaturvedi (IFoS:2002:UK) as Joint Secretary level officer in the Institution of Lokpal of India.

Chaturvedi, a Magsaysay Award-winning officer, is currently serving as Chief Conservator of Forests and Director of the Uttarakhand Forestry Training Academy in Haldwani.

According to an official communication dated June 13, Additional Secretary Himanshu Khurana conveyed the state government’s consent for Chaturvedi’s candidature. The communication was addressed to the Under Secretary (Establishment), Lokpal of India.

The letter stated that the state government had granted no objection/consent for the application submitted by Sanjiv Chaturvedi for central deputation to the post of Joint Secretary level in the Institution of Lokpal of India.

The approval followed a recommendation made by the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Head of Forest Force, Uttarakhand, who had forwarded Chaturvedi’s application along with supporting documents on May 18, 2026.
