Jai Patil (IRTS:2014), who was recommended for central deputation by the Ministry of Railways, has been selected for appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs for four years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (May 13, 2026), the competent authority has approved his appointment for a period of four years from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever event takes place earlier.
Patil is a 2014-batch Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) officer.
