Ashok Kumar Sharma (IDES:1994), serving as Director in the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (February 20, 2026), the competent authority has approved the proposal of the Ministry of MSME to relieve him in order to enable him to avail the benefit of promotion in his parent cadre.
Notably, Sharma was appointed as Director in the MSME Ministry in December 2023 for a period of five years. His tenure was originally scheduled to run until the end of 2028. However, he is being repatriated ahead of schedule to take up his promotional assignment.
