New Delhi: The tenure of Mercy Epao (CSS) as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) has been extended by one year.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (September 15, 2026), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal of the Ministry of MSME to extend her tenure for a period of one year beyond August 23, 2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Epao has been serving as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of MSME since August 24, 2021. Her five-year deputation tenure ended on August 23, 2026, following which the extension was required.
With the extension, she will continue as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of MSME until August 23, 2027.
