New Delhi: Senior IPS officer Sanjay A Lathkar (IPS:1995:JH) has been appointed as Director General (Security) (Level-16) in the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE).
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (September 15, 2026), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal of the Department of Atomic Energy for his appointment to the post.
Lathkar will hold the post from the date of assumption of charge until his superannuation on September 30, 2028, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
His appointment has been made by temporarily upgrading the post of Inspector General (Security), DAE, from Level-14 to Level-16 in the pay matrix.
Lathkar was earlier appointed as Inspector General (Security) in the Department of Atomic Energy. In December 2023, he was empanelled for holding posts of Additional Director General (ADG) rank in the Government of India.
