Chandigarh DGP SS Yadav transferred to BSF, RK Singh takes additional charge

In a significant development, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Tuesday (01.04.2025) transferred Chandigarh DGP Surendra Singh Yadav (IPS:1997:AGMUT) and appointed him as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the Border Security Force (BSF) on deputation basis.

In a significant development, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Tuesday (01.04.2025) transferred Chandigarh DGP Surendra Singh Yadav (IPS:1997:AGMUT) and appointed him as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the Border Security Force (BSF) on deputation basis.

Yadav’s tenure as Chandigarh DGP lasted for over a year. He was appointed to the post on March 12, 2024, while serving in Delhi Police and assumed charge on March 16, relieving incumbent Praveer Ranjan (IPS:1993:AGMUT).

As per the MHA order, IPS officer Raj Kumar Singh (IPS:2004:AGMUT), currently serving as Inspector General (IG) in Chandigarh, will oversee the charge of Chandigarh DGP until further orders.
