A section of politicians in Jharkhand, including some ruling alliance partners, has shown its unhappiness over large scale transfers of IPS officers on Tuesday, amid the corona outbreak in the state.
According to sources, some congress ministers are not happy with this move of the government, and will soon meet the Chief Minister Hemant Soren in this regard.
There are those who feel that though it’s the CM’s prerogative, shifting of the officers is not advisable till the end of the Covid-19 crisis. They argue that the police officers engaged in anti-Covid duties, are more aware of their areas than a new officer, who will take more time to understand the area-specific problems.
The opposition leaders say that in this hour of crisis, the priority of the government should be fighting the corona outbreak, and the resultant lock down, rather than engaging in transfers and postings.
