UP: 31 PPS officers may be promoted to IPS cadre

A long wait for promotion for officers in the Uttar Pradesh Provincial Police Service (PPS) is about to come to an end. The Departmental Promotion Committee is scheduled to meet in Lucknow on October 7 to discuss the promotion of 31 PPS officers from the 1992 and 1993 batches to the IPS cadre.

Good news for PPS officers in Uttar Pradesh. A long wait for promotion for officers in the Uttar Pradesh Provincial Police Service (PPS) is about to come to an end. The Departmental Promotion Committee is scheduled to meet in Lucknow on October 7 to discuss the promotion of 31 PPS officers from the 1992 and 1993 batches to the IPS cadre. On the same day, 33 Deputy Superintendents of Police will be promoted to the position of Additional Superintendent of Police by the Departmental Promotion Committee.

The promotion from PPS to IPS cadre was long overdue. Earlier this month, the Ministry of Home Affairs approved a proposal to fill 31 vacant posts in the IPS cadre through promotion.

On the basis of seniority, 1992 batch PPS officers Shravan Kumar Singh, Sarvanand Yadav, Hafizur Rahman, Ramesh Prasad Gupta, Keshwachand Goswami, Omvir Singh, Rajesh Kumar Yadav, Bibita Sahu, Lal Saheb Yadav, Rajdhari Chaurasia, Vinod Kumar, Om Prakash Yadav, Mahatma Prasad, Prabal Pratap Singh will get promotion in IPS cadre.

Similarly, 1993 batch PPS officers Dinesh Kumar Singh, Chandra Prakash Shukla, Brijesh Kumar Mishra, Ashutosh Shukla, Brijesh Kumar Srivastava, Shailendra Kumar Rai, Shivaji, Sanjay Kumar Yadav, Arvind Mishra, Aditya Kumar Shukla and Anil Kumar Singh will get a chance of promotion in IPS cadre.
