Ravindra Singh Yadav appointed Andaman & Nicobar DGP

IPS officer Ravindra Singh Yadav has been appointed as DGP of Andaman and Nicobar Islands by the Union Home Ministry.

The Union Home Ministry on Wednesday (May 13, 2026) appointed senior IPS officer Ravindra Singh Yadav (IPS:1995:AGMUT) as the Director General of Police (DGP) of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Before this appointment, Yadav was serving as Special Commissioner of Police (Law & Order, Zone-I) in Delhi Police. He will succeed Hargobinder Singh Dhaliwal, who has been transferred to New Delhi.

A 1995-batch AGMUT cadre IPS officer, Yadav has held several important assignments during his career. In 2022, he served as Special Commissioner of Police (Crime) in Delhi Police, where he supervised major criminal investigations, anti-gangster operations and technology-driven policing initiatives.

He has also served as Additional Director General of Police in Arunachal Pradesh and handled several key law and order responsibilities during his tenure.
