New Delhi: The Central deputation tenure of Ravi Kumar Arora (IAS:2006:GJ), currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA), has been extended till March 31, 2027.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (August 6, 2026), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs to extend his central deputation tenure for the period from August 5, 2026 to March 31, 2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Arora joined the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs as Director on August 5, 2021. Following his empanelment to the Joint Secretary level, he continued in the ministry in the upgraded position.
In July 2024, the ACC had approved the extension of his tenure as Joint Secretary for two years, up to August 4, 2026. With the latest order, his tenure has been extended for nearly eight months, till March 31, 2027.
Prior to joining the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, Arora served as Private Secretary to External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar.
