Punjab : Govt sends panel of 10 IPS officers to UPSC for DGP’s post

The Punjab government on Thursday (30.09.2021) sent a panel of 10 officials to the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for the appointment of a regular director general of police (DGP). Once the UPSC clears the names of the three selected officers and forward it to state government, it will subsequently make a final call.

The officers in the panel include;

1. Siddharth Chattopadhyaya (IPS:1986:PB)
2. Dinkar Gupta (IPS:1987:PB)
3. M K Tiwari (IPS:1987:PB)
4. V K Bhawra (IPS:1987:PB)
5. Prabodh Kumar (IPS:1988:PB)
6. Rohit Choudhary (IPS:1988:PB)
7. Iqbal Preet Singh Sahota (IPS:1988:PB)
8. Sanjeev Kalra (IPS:1989:PB)
9. Parag Jain (IPS:1989:PB), and
10. Barjinder Kumar Uppal (IPS:1991:PB)
