Manmeet K Nanda appointed as MD & CEO of Invest India

The board of Invest India has appointed Manmeet K Nanda (IAS:2000:WB) as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the investment promotion and facilitation body under the Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).

The board of Invest India has appointed Manmeet K Nanda (IAS:2000:WB) as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the investment promotion and facilitation body under the Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT). Presently, Nanda is serving as Joint Secretary in the DPIIT and succeeds Deepak Bagla, who resigned from the post last week citing personal reasons.

In its meeting held on Monday, the board approved the appointment of Nanda as the new MD and CEO, the Commerce Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.

The Board of Invest India is chaired by DPIIT secretary Anurag Jain (IAS: 1989: MP). Other members of the board include P K Tripathi (IAS: 1987: AGMUT), secretary (Coordination) in Cabinet Secretariat, Arti Bhatnagar (IDAS: 1990), Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor in DPIIT, Md. Noor Rahman Sheikh (IFS: 2004), Joint Secretary in the external affairs ministry and industry captains such as Mahindra Group chairperson Anand Mahindra, Cadilla Healthcare chairperson Pankaj R Patel and Ambuja Neotia Group chairperson Harshvardhan Neotia, and industry associations including Confederation of Indian Industry and NASSCOM.

Invest India was set up in 2009 under section 25 of the Companies Act.
