Rudra Gaurav Shresth appointed Ambassador to Iran

Senior diplomat Rudra Gaurav Shresth (IFS:1999) was on Wednesday (22.03.2023) appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Islamic Republic of Iran and is expected to take up the assignment shortly.

Senior diplomat Rudra Gaurav Shresth (IFS:1999) was on Wednesday (22.03.2023) appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Islamic Republic of Iran and is expected to take up the assignment shortly.

He was serving as OSD in PMO but was empanelled to hold Joint Secretary level posts in the Government of India on March 11, 2020. Simultaneously, he was appointed as Joint Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) for a tenure up to 09.02.2023. Prior to this, he served as the High Commissioner of India to the Republic of Mozambique and Director of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

Shresth also served as the Deputy Chief of Mission in Thimpu, Bhutan.
