The Karnataka government on Wednesday (05.03.2025) transferred senior IPS officer D Roopa Moudgil (IPS:2000:KN) and appointed her as Managing Director of Karnataka Silk Marketing Board Limited. She was previously serving as Inspector General of Police (IGP) in the Internal Security Division (ISD).
The transfer comes just two days after Vartika Katiyar (IPS:2010:KN) was transferred from her post following her complaint against Moudgil, alleging that she used police personnel to plant confidential documents from other departments in her chamber.
Katiyar, who was serving as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the same division, had lodged a complaint with the Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh on February 20, but the matter was leaked to the media.
In her complaint, Katiyar alleged that on September 6, 2024, Head Constable Manjunath T. S. and Home Guard Mallikarjun, acting on Moudgil’s instructions, entered her chamber and placed certain files there, also taking photos of them. She further claimed that the photos were circulated on WhatsApp and that Moudgil later threatened to submit a negative annual performance report against her.
