The Uttar Pradesh government on Friday appointed Hitesh Chandra Awasthi (IPS:1985:UP) as the interim Director General of Police (DGP) of the state. He replaces O P Singh, who retired from the top post in Uttar Pradesh on Friday morning.
Awasthi is presently posted as Director General Vigilance. He will retire in June 2021.
