With the three-year deputation term of UT home secretary Arun Kumar Gupta (IAS:1992:HY) set to be over in May, the Haryana government has forwarded names of three senior IAS officers, to be considered for the top post, to the Chandigarh administration.

The panel received by UT Administration includes names of 2000 batch IAS Pankaj Agarwal & Nitin Kumar Yadav and 2003 batch IAS Vinay Singh. The post is reserved for Haryana cadre Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers.

Once the UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore recommends the names, the Administration will send the panel to the Union Home Ministry for its final approval.

The UT Administration had asked the Haryana Government to send a panel of officers for the post so that the process to get an approval of the MHA could be started before the tenure of the incumbent Home Secretary ends in May.

With the post of UT Finance Secretary lying vacant after Punjab cadre IAS Ajoy Kumar Sinha’s tenure ended in September last year, Arun Gupta is also looking after the Finance Department apart from holding charge of around 20 other departments.
