The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (May 19, 2026) modified its earlier order regarding the appointment of Sonal Swaroop (IAS:2012:AGMUT) as Director of Census Operations/Director of Citizen Registration (Director level) for Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya.
According to the revised order, the competent authority has approved her appointment on an additional charge basis under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of three years from the date of assumption of charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Earlier, the appointment order had approved the assignment for three years under the Central Staffing Scheme but did not mention that it was on an additional charge basis.
