The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has redistributed responsibilities among its members following the retirement of Sanjay Kumar (IRS-IT: 1988) in January. Kumar had been serving as Member (Audit and Judicial) with the additional charge of Member (Income Tax).
As per the new allocations, Harinder Bir Singh Gill (IRS-IT:1987), currently Member (Taxpayer Services and Revenue) with additional charge of Member (Systems and Faceless Services), has now been assigned the additional charge of Member (Income Tax). He will also oversee the Karnataka & Goa and Andhra Pradesh & Telangana regions.
Meanwhile, Ramesh Narain Parbat (IRS-IT:1989), Member (Legislation), has been entrusted with the additional charge of Member (Audit and Judicial) along with zonal responsibilities for Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh.
