CBDT issues major reshuffle in Pr. CIT and Pr. DIT ranks; large-scale transfers and additional charge assignments ordered

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) on Tuesday (May 19, 2026) issued a major transfer and posting order in the grade of Principal Commissioner of Income Tax (Pr. CIT) and Principal Director of Income Tax (Pr. DIT). The order includes promotions, transfers, inter-regional postings and additional charge arrangements involving a large number of officers across various regions of the country.
