VL Kantha Rao assigned addl charge of Coal Ministry

Senior IAS officer VL Kantha Rao (IAS:1992:MP), presently serving as Secretary, Ministry of Mines, has been assigned additional charge of the post of Secretary, Ministry of Coal.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (13.06.2025), the competent authority has approved the assignment for the period from June 14 to June 23, 2025, during the leave of Vikram Dev Dutt (IAS:1993:AGMUT).

Senior IAS officer Devesh Chaturvedi (IAS:1989:UP), currently serving as Secretary, Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, has been assigned additional charge of the post of Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (13.06.2025), the competent authority approved the assignment for the period from June 16 to June 26, 2025, during the absence on leave of Ashish Kumar Bhutani (IAS:1992:AM).

Telangana: 7 Collectors among 33 IAS officers shifted

In a significant administrative overhaul, the Telangana government on Thursday (12.06.2025) issued transfer and posting orders for 36 officers, including 33 IAS, 2 IFS, and 1 IA&AS officer. Among the changes, seven officers holding the post of Collector & District Magistrate have been transferred.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows;

  1. Shashant Goel (IAS:1990:TG), Special Chief Secretary to Government, Telangana Bhavan, New Delhi, has been transferred and posted as Special Chief Secretary to Government and Resident Commissioner, Telangana Bhawan, New Delhi.
  2. Navin Mittal (IAS:1996:TG), Principal Secretary, Revenue Department, has been transferred and posted as Principal Secretary, Energy Department.
  3. N Sridhar (IAS:1997:TG), Principal Secretary, SCD Department, has been transferred and posted as Principal Secretary, PR & RD RWS & RSAD Department. He will continue to hold the FAC of Principal Secretary, Mines & Geology.
  4. Jyoti Buddha Prakash (IAS:2002:TG), Secretary (Registration & Stamps), Revenue Department and Secretary, Housing, has been transferred and posted as Secretary, SCD Department. He is also placed in FAC of the post of Secretary, Planning Department and EO DG, Telangana Remote Sensing Application Centre (TGRAC).
  5. Lokesh Kumar DS (IAS:2003:TG), Additional CEO is placed in FAC of the post of Secretary, Revenue Department. He is also placed in FAC of the post of Chief Commissioner of Land Administration (CCLA).

FSIB recommends R Doraiswamy as LIC CEO & MD

The Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) on Wednesday (June 11, 2025) recommended R Doraiswamy for the position of Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director (CEO & MD) of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC). Doraiswamy is currently serving as Managing Director at LIC, a post he assumed in September 2023.

The Bureau conducted interactions with four LIC executives for the top role: R Doraiswamy, Sat Pal Bhanoo, Dinesh Pant, and Ratnakar Patnaik.

“Keeping in view their performance in the interface, their overall experience and the extant parameters, the Bureau recommends Shri R Doraiswamy for the position of CEO & MD in LIC,” FSIB said in a statement.

Interestingly, the government had recently entrusted Sat Pal Bhanoo with the financial and administrative powers of CEO & MD for a three-month period starting June 8, 2025, following the completion of Siddhartha Mohanty’s term.

With FSIB’s recommendation in place, Doraiswamy’s appointment now awaits further approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).

Centre appoints CPOs for 22 Aspirational Districts

The central government on Thursday (12.06.2025) announced the appointment of Central Prabhari Officers (CPOs) for 22 districts under the Aspirational District Programme.

These officers have been entrusted with the responsibility of monitoring development indicators and facilitating effective implementation of government schemes in these districts. The officers will handle their CPO duties in addition to their existing official responsibilities.

Newly appointed CPOs for 22 districts are as follows:

Haryana: 31 IAS officers, 5 HCS officers transferred in bureaucratic shakeup

The Haryana government on Thursday (12.06.2025) enacted major bureaucratic reshuffle by issuing transfer and posting orders for 31 IAS officers and 5 HCS officers with immediate effect.

Chandigarh: Three IAS officers assigned key portfolios

The Chandigarh Administration on Wednesday (June 11, 2025) assigned portfolios to three IAS officers who recently joined the Union Territory cadre. The officers—Swapnil M. Naik (IAS:2009:AGMUT), Pardeep Kumar (IAS:2013:AGMUT), and Mohamed Mansoor L. (IAS:2017:AGMUT)—have been entrusted with key responsibilities across various departments.

Swapnil M. Naik (IAS:2009:AGMUT) has been appointed:

  • Secretary, Hospitality
  • Chairman, Chandigarh Industrial and Tourism Development Corporation (CITCO)
  • Officer on Special Duty (OSD), Personnel

With these appointments, Anuradha S. Chagti (CSS) and Ajay Chagti (IAS) have been relieved of their respective charges.

Pardeep Kumar (IAS:2013:AGMUT) has been assigned:

  • Special Commissioner, Municipal Corporation
  • Secretary, Agriculture Department

Hari Kallikkat (IAS) has been relieved of these responsibilities.

Mohamed Mansoor L. (IAS:2017:AGMUT) will now serve as:

  • Secretary, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Department
  • Secretary, Cooperation
  • Secretary, Food & Supplies, Consumer Affairs, Legal Metrology
  • Secretary, Excise and Taxation

Swapnil Mamgain appointed as DIG in BSF

According to an order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Wednesday (11.06.2025), the competent authority has approved the appointment of Mr. Mamgain to the post on deputation basis for a period of five years from the date of assumption of charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Senthil Avoodai Krishna Raj appointed as IG in CISF

Senthil Avoodai Krishna Raj (IPS:2007:UK), currently serving as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), has been appointed to the post of Inspector General (IG) in the same force.

According to an order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Monday (June 9, 2025), the competent authority has approved his appointment to the IG post from the date of assuming charge and up to his remaining tenure, i.e., February 2, 2023, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Notably, the Government of India had on May 11 empanelled 65 IPS officers, including Krishna Raj, for holding IG-equivalent level posts at the Centre.

Dr. Kiran Kang Sidhu appointed SP in BPR&D

Dr. Kiran Kang Sidhu (IPS:2012:RJ) has been appointed as Superintendent of Police (SP) in Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D) for five years.
