Sunil Kumar Jha appointed DG, Fire Services & Home Guards

Senior IPS officer Sunil Kumar Jha (IPS:1993:BH), Special Director General, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), has been appointed as Director General, Fire Services, Civil Defence & Home Guards. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Saturday (14.06.2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of M/o Home Affairs to appoint Mr Jha to the post for a tenure up to the date of his superannuation on January 31, 2027 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Jha will take charge of the post on July 1, 2025, following the retirement of incumbent Vivek Srivastava (IPS:1989:GJ) on June 30.

Sunil Kumar Jha has been serving as Special DG of CRPF since January 25, 2025.

Ateesh Kumar Singh gets one-year extension as JS, MSME

The central deputation tenure of Ateesh Kumar Singh (IRTS:1994), serving as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), has been extended by one year. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Saturday (14.06.2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the Ministry of MSME’s proposal to extend his tenure beyond June 8, 2025, or until further orders, whichever is earlier, by temporarily upgrading one post of Joint Development Commissioner in the office of the Development Commissioner to the level of Joint Secretary.

Mr. Singh was initially appointed to the post in the last week of May 2020 and assumed charge on June 8, 2020. He has since continued to serve in the ministry in key roles related to policy implementation and MSME development

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on Saturday (14.06.2025) approved the empanelment of 38 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers for holding posts at the level of Additional Director General (ADG) or equivalent in the Government of India.

Of the 38 officers, one is from the 1995 batch, four are from the 1996 batch, and the remaining 33 belong to the 1997 batch.

Karnataka govt transfers D Roopa, Rohini Sindhuri among 4 officers

The Karnataka government on Thursday (June 12, 2025) issued transfer and posting orders for three IAS officers and one IPS officer, marking a key administrative reshuffle.

Senior IPS officer D Roopa Moudgil (IPS:2000:KN), Managing Director, Karnataka Silk Marketing Corporation Ltd, has been transferred and posted as Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Bengaluru Metropolitan Task Force. Her transfer comes just weeks after her promotion to the ADGP rank, which was directed by the Karnataka High Court following her petition regarding delayed elevation.

Among the three IAS officers shifted, Rohini Sindhuri (IPS:2009:KN) has been posted as Secretary, Labour Department, Bengaluru. She was earlier serving as Secretary (Food Processing and Harvest Technology) in the Agriculture Department.

SB Shettennavar (IAS:2008:KN), who was awaiting posting, has now been appointed as Regional Commissioner, Belagavi Division, Belagavi. Meanwhile, Akram Pasha (IAS:2012:KN), also awaiting posting, has been named Managing Director, Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), Bengaluru.

IPS Manisha Choudhary appointed DIG in CBI

IPS officer Manisha Choudhary (IPS:2011:HY) has been appointed as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for five years. According to an order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), the competent authority has approved the appointment of Ms Choudhary to the post of DIG in CBI for a period of five years from the date of assumption of charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Vishal Garg has been selected for appointment as Director (Finance), India Optel Limited (IOL) at a Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) meeting held on June 13, 2025. Presently, he is serving as Additional General Manager (Group head, UFSC VPG, NR-VSR), NTPC Limited.

Following his selection, the PESB has recommended his name to the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC). Upon receiving the necessary vigilance clearances and ACC approval, Vishal Garg will be formally appointed to the post of Director (Finance).

Manoj Kumar Agarwal selected as next CMD of BCCL

Manoj Kumar Agarwal has been selected for appointment as Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) at a Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) meeting held on June 12, 2025. He is currently serving as Director (Technical/P&P) in BCCL.

Following his selection, the PESB has recommended his name to the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC). Subject to the necessary vigilance clearances and ACC approval, he will be formally appointed to the top post.

Notably, incumbent CMD Samiran Dutta is scheduled to retire on August 31, 2025. Dutta was appointed CMD on December 27, 2021.

Himanshu Jain gets addl. charge of CVO of NCL, Singrauli

Himanshu Jain (IRSSE:2008), Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of South Eastern Coalfields Ltd (SECL), Bilaspur, has been given additional charge of CVO of Northern Coalfields Ltd. (NCL), Singrauli. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (10.06.2025), the competent authority has approved the appointment of Mr Jain to the post for a period of six months with effect from May 19, 2025 or till appointment of a regular CVO in NCL or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

MbPA CVO Rakesh Shrivastava repatriated to parent cadre

Rakesh Shrivastava (ITS:1997), Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of Mumbai Port Authority (MbPA), has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre on personal grounds.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (13.06.2025), the competent authority has approved the repatriation with the condition of extended cooling-off.

Mr Shrivastava had been serving as CVO of MbPA since September 2020. In September 2023, his tenure was extended for two more years, set to continue till September 2025. However, he has now been repatriated around three months ahead of schedule.
