Saumitra Priya Srivastava selected as Director (Marketing), Indian Oil Corporation

Saumitra Priya Srivastava has been selected for the post of Director (Marketing), Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) Limited by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB). The selection was made following interviews conducted by PESB on July 14, 2025.

He is currently serving as Executive Director, Corporate Strategy, Indian Oil Corporation Limited.

Following the selection, the PESB has recommended his name to the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) for final approval. His formal appointment will be subject to the receipt of necessary vigilance clearances and the ACC’s nod.

J&K: Seven IAS officers shifted; Ashish Chandra Verma posted as Financial Commissioner, Tourism

In a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, the Jammu and Kashmir government on Saturday (July 12, 2025) issued transfer and posting orders for seven IAS officers. The most notable among the changes is the appointment of senior IAS officer Ashish Chandra Verma, who was awaiting a posting, as the Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Tourism Department.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows;

  1. Dr Ashish Chandra Verma (IAS:1994:AGMUT), awaiting posting orders in General Administration Department, has been posted as
    posted as Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Tourism Department. He shall also hold the charge of the post
    of Administrative Secretary, Planning, Development and Monitoring Department, in addition to his own duties.
  2. Anil Kumar Singh (IAS:1995:AGMUT), Principal Secretary, Social Welfare Department, holding additional charge of the post of Administrative Secretary, Mining Department, has been transferred and posted as Principal Secretary, Public Works (R&B) Department. He shall continue to hold the additional charge of the post of Administrative Secretary, Mining Department.
  3. Yasha Mudgal (IAS:2007:AGMUT), Commissioner/Secretary, Tourism Department, has been transferred and posted as Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Youth Services and Sports Department.
  4. Sarmad Hafeez (IAS:2009:AGMUT), Commissioner/Secretary, Youth Services and Sports Department, is transferred and posted as Commissioner/Secretary, Social Welfare Department.
  5. Talat Parvez Rohella (IAS:2010:AGMUT), Secretary, Planning, Development and Monitoring Department, has been transferred and posted as Chairman, Bureau of Public Enterprises.
  6. Bhupinder Kumar, IAS (AGMUT:2011), Secretary, Public. Works (R&B) Department, holding additional charge of the posts of Director of Census Operations/Director of Citizen Registration for the UTs of J&K/Ladakh, Resident Commissioner, New Delhi & Administrative Secretary, Hospitality and Protocol Department, has been transferred and posted as Resident Commissioner, J&K Government, New Delhi. He shall continue to hold the additional charge of the posts of Administrative Secretary, Hospitality and Protocol Department & Director of Census Operations/Director of Citizen Registration for the UTs of
    J&K/Ladakh.
  7. Ananth Dwivedi (IAS:2021:AGMUT), Chief Executive Officer, State Health Agency, J&K, holding additional charge of the post of Mission Director, Ayushman Bharat Digital Health Mission, J&K, shall also hold the charge of the post of Additional Secretary, Revenue Department in addition to his own duties.

Sharmistha Maitra gets extension as Director in Ministry of Defence

The central deputation tenure of Sharmistha Maitra (IDES:2005) as Director in the Ministry of Defence has been extended for a period of two years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Saturday (12.07.2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of Ministry of Defence to extend the deputation tenure of Ms Maitra for a period of two years beyond August 31, 2025 and upto August 31, 2027 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Notably, Sharmistha Maitra began her central deputation tenure on September 1, 2020.

Shalini Pandey gets extension as Director in Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs

The central deputation tenure of Shalini Pandey (IDES:2004) as Director in Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA) has been extended for a period of two years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Saturday (12.07.2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs to extend the deputation tenure of Ms Pandey for a period of two years beyond August 16, 2025 and upto August 16, 2027 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Notably, Shalini Pandey began her central deputation tenure on August 17, 2020.

Prateek Kumar Singh gets extension as Director in Department of Expenditure

The central deputation tenure of Prateek Kumar Singh (IRAS:2006) as Director in Department of Expenditure has been extended for a period of two years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Saturday (12.07.2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of Department of Expenditure to extend the deputation tenure of Mr Singh for a period of two years beyond August 18, 2025 and upto August 18, 2027 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Notably, Prateek Kumar Singh began his central deputation tenure on August 19, 2020.

Tenure of Dr Anupama curtailed in Drinking Water & Sanitation Department

The tenure of Dr. Anupama (IFoS:2000:WB) as Director in the Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation has been curtailed.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Saturday (July 12, 2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has granted ex-post facto approval to the department’s proposal dated May 13, 2025, seeking curtailment of her central deputation.

Dr. Anupama had been serving in the Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation since June 2020, and was originally appointed for a five-year tenure.

Shobhendra Bahadur’s tenure in MeitY extended by one year

The central deputation tenure of Shobhendra Bahadur (ITS:1994) as Director in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has been extended by one year.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Saturday (July 12, 2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved MeitY’s proposal to extend Bahadur’s tenure until August 31, 2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. With this extension, he will complete a total of six years on central deputation.

Shobhendra Bahadur began his tenure in the Central government on August 31, 2020.

IPS officer Sudhir Kallaya Hiremath repatriated to Maharashtra cadre from CBI

IPS officer Sudhir Kallaya Hiremath (IPS:2007:MH), currently serving as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre, Maharashtra.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Saturday (July 12, 2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal from the AV Division of DoPT to repatriate Mr. Hiremath to his parent cadre on personal grounds, with an extended cooling-off condition.

Hiremath had joined the CBI in February 2023 following his induction order dated January 31, 2023. Notably, he was recently empanelled on May 11 for holding Inspector General-level posts in the Government of India.

Atul Jain to continue as CEO of Polavaram Project Authority

Atul Jain, currently serving as Chairman of Krishna River Management Board (KRMB), Hyderabad, will continue to hold additional charge of the post of Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Polavaram Project Authority, Hyderabad, for six months.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Saturday (July 12, 2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation to extend his additional charge. The extension is effective for six months from May 28, 2025, and will continue either until the appointment of a regular incumbent or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Sajeesh Kumar N gets additional charge as Commissioner, CMPFO

Sajeesh Kumar N (IRTS:2002), currently serving as Coal Controller in the Coal Controller Organisation under the Ministry of Coal, has been entrusted with additional charge of Commissioner (Joint Secretary level), Coal Mines Provident Fund Organisation (CMPFO).

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Saturday (July 12, 2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Coal to assign this additional responsibility to Mr. Kumar for a period of six months.

The tenure will be effective from May 1, 2025, or until the appointment of a regular incumbent, or until further orders—whichever comes earlier.
