New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Anindya Mitra and Malay Ghosh as Technical Members (State) in the Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT).
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday (July 13, 2026), both have been appointed against two posts of Technical Member (State) for the West Bengal, Sikkim and Andaman & Nicobar Benches of the GSTAT at Kolkata.
Anindya Mitra is a retired IAS officer of the West Bengal cadre. He had joined the IAS through the Non-State Civil Service (Non-SCS) stream.
Malay Ghosh is also a retired IAS officer of the West Bengal cadre.
The GST Appellate Tribunal is the appellate body that hears disputes related to the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and decides appeals arising under the GST law.
