CBIC promotes three IRS officers to Principal Chief Commissioner Grade

New Delhi: The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) on Thursday (October 29, 2026) promoted three senior IRS officers of the 1992 batch to the grade of Principal Chief Commissioner / Principal Director General of Customs and Indirect Taxes in Level 17 of the pay matrix (Apex Scale).

According to an office order, the promotions have been approved against the panel year 2026 and will take effect from the date the officers assume charge of the promotional posts.

The officers promoted are:

1. SK Vimalanathan (IRS-C&IT:1992)
2. Vimal Kumar Srivastava (IRS-C&IT:1992)
3. Rajendra Singh (IRS-C&IT:1992)
