Bhopal: Former IPS officer A Sai Manohar (Retd. IPS:1995:MP) has been appointed as an Advisor to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav on a contractual basis, just a day after his retirement from the Indian Police Service.
The appointment was approved by the Madhya Pradesh Cabinet on Tuesday, following which the official order was issued. Manohar has been appointed for a period of one year or until further orders, whichever is earlier, with effect from September 1, 2026. He has been posted in the Chief Minister’s Office in New Delhi.
In his new role, Manohar will play a crucial role in liaison, strategic affairs and key state matters at the Centre.
Manohar retired from service on August 31, 2026, while serving as ADGP, Intelligence. Following his retirement, Anshuman Yadav (IPS:1998:MP) was appointed as ADGP, Intelligence, with additional charge of ADGP, Cyber.
A 1995-batch IPS officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre, Manohar has held several key positions during his career. He served as SSP, Indore, IG, Bhopal Range, and ADG, Cyber, among other assignments. He also served on central deputation in the CBI, including as Joint Director (Policy).
