Mumbai: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has appointed Suman Ray as Executive Director (ED) with effect from September 1, 2026.
According to an order issued on Tuesday (September 1, 2026), Ray will oversee the Department of Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation (DICGC) and the Premises Department.
Before his appointment as Executive Director, Ray was serving as the Regional Director for Maharashtra. A career central banker with more than three decades of experience at the RBI, he has worked across several key areas, including currency management, financial inclusion, payment and settlement systems, consumer education and protection, and human resources.
